Tesla debuts electric car for the masses

Tesla Motors unveiled its newest and cheapest electric car Thursday, cutting the price tag to $57,000 US from over $100,000, in a move that could transform the boutique California firm into a mainstream automaker. India's Tata Motors unveils the world's cheapest car

With the flash of cameras and oohs and aahs from the crowd, an Indian company Monday launched what is billed as the world's least expensive car, six years after it was conceived and six months behind schedule.
