Well, it wasn't just the kiss with actor and "Caregiver" co-star John Estrada that made her cry. Sharon Cuneta said she always gets teary-eyed when recalling the hard work and emotional roller-coaster ride she went through while filming her comeback movie.
She recently viewed the official trailer for "Caregiver" and found herself in tears again. She said that every single scene in the film affected her deeply because she was really able to immerse herself in her role.
Sharon plays a schoolteacher married to an OFW (John Estrada) who works as a nurse in London. Sharon's character eventually goes to London to join her husband and work as a caregiver there. (I really felt the hardship and loneliness of being a caregiver. It was total immersion, really heavy.) Sharon only had good words about her director, acclaimed Filipino filmmaker Chito Roño. But afterwards, mararamdaman mo, tama siya," said Sharon. (There's no such thing as a star when it comes to Chito. He'll terrorize you, ask you to do a scene over and over. But afterwards, you'll realize he was right.) She also talked about the "surprising" kissing scene she had with co-star John Estrada. In that scene, husband and wife meet at the airport in London and kiss. Naturally, Roño asked for a passionate kiss for the scene, considering that the characters had not seen one another for years. Walang hiya!," Sharon said, laughing out loud. (I think John used up my entire quota for kissing scenes. It was intense, torrid. He practically inhaled me. I couldn't do anything. The scene called for him to be filled with such longing after so long a time apart. Then after the scene was done, I saw Chito. He was runinng away! The bastard!) Sharon also said that she's hoping and praying that she has given justice, through her acting, to the many sacrifices being made by Filipino caregivers. All the hardships I go through as an artist could never match the hard work being given by our caregivers to their wards and their families back home.)
