MANILA – Australian beauty queen and former actress Michelle Van Eimeren has asked her ex-husband Ogie Alcasid and his girlfriend Regine Velasquez to sing at her upcoming wedding.
Velasquez, hailed as "Asia’s songbird" said it was Alcasid who told her about the wedding invitation.
Reports said that Van Eimeren is set to wed Australian fiance Mark Murrow before the end of the year.
"Actually ang nasabi sa akin si Ogie kasi nakausap niya (si Michelle). Tapos sinabi nga niya na they are engaged. Of course, we are both very happy for them. Noong nag-visit sila, nakita talaga namin how in love they were. Talagang sobrang lapit," Velasquez said.
Velasquez, who shared her happiness and good wishes for the Australian couple, said that she is still thinking of the most beautiful song that she willl dedicate to Eimeren and her hubby.
"Hindi ko pa alam kung ano ang kakantahin ko. But definitely, gusto ko ‘yong sobrang beautiful na song na iaaalay ko sa kanya, sa kanilang dalawa," Velasquez ended.
Alcasid and Van Eimeren met during the Miss World pageant where she was a contestant. The couple married in 1998 and have two daughters.
The celebrity couple announced the end of their marriage in 2007, but reportedly remain on amicable terms.
