Jennylyn Mercado wins first round in legal battle
MANILA – Young actress Jennylyn Mercado has won the first round in her legal battle against personal assistant Rowena “Mel” Pulmano after the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office ruled in her favor.
In a resolution, Quezon City assistant prosecutor Arleen Tagaban said there is a “probable cause” to indict Pulmano in connection with the complaint filed against her.
In her complaint lodged last year, Mercado accused Pulmano of the crime of qualified theft after the latter allegedly spent the actress’ money without her knowledge. The personal assistant allegedly spent P460, 272. 84.
“Finally, ayos na din lahat. Parang nabunutan ako ng tinik. Isa yan sa mga dinadala kong problema. At least, ngayon ayos na,” Mercado said.
Mercado also scored a victory after the robbery case filed against her by Pulmano was dismissed “for lack of probable cause.”
Pulmano had accused Mercado and her two companions of stealing her jewelry worth more than P149,000.
Mercado countered: “Ako na nga iyong nanakawan ako pa iyong pagbibintangan ng nagnakaw, di ba? Parang hindi naman tama iyon. Alam naman namin ang totoo. So, ang totoo talaga lalabas at lalabas din iyan. Batas na siguro ang bahala sa kanya.”
