Pacquiao set to star in new action flick

manny_pacquiao_on_tv_patrol MANILA – People’s Champ Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao is making a new action movie, a television report said.

The pound-for-pound king is set to star in his comeback film, “Sa Ngalan ng Busabos,” under Golden Lion Films owned by couple Carlo J. Caparas and Donna Villa.

Joining Pacquiao are stars Jackie Rice, Joel Torre, Pen Medina and Gina Pareño.

An excited and grateful Pacquiao told “Chika Minute” that he already began shooting some fight scenes with Medina.

Pacquiao, the report said, will not have a leading lady in this movie.

His last film was in 2008 when he did "Anak ng Kumander" alongside Ara Mina and Valerie Concepcion.  The movie reportedly did not do well in the box office and was panned by movie critics.

The boxing icon will reportedly shoot a Hollywood film with "Pussycat Dolls" lead singer Nicole Scherzinger but this is not yet confirmed.

Pacquiao is the current IBO and Ring Magazine junior welterweight champion. He is set to fly to Las Vegas, Nevada in November for his next fight against WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico.
