Police search Mayweather’s home
MANILA – Former pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has been served a search warrant by the Las Vegas police on Monday but the reason behind it was not disclosed.
According to an Examiner.com article, a luxury car belonging to Mayweather was spotted at the scene of a shooting incident that happened outside a skating rink Sunday evening.
Witnesses have identified Mayweather’s Rolls-Royce as it drove away from the Crystal Palace Skating Center along Boulder Highway.
There were no reported injuries due to the shooting but a vehicle was said to be hit with several bullets.
Authorities noted that Mayweather is not considered a suspect.
An Associated Press (AP) report stated that a “known associate” of Mayweather Promotions is deemed as a suspect in the shooting. The suspect reportedly goes by the name “O.C.”
The shooting was allegedly preceded by an argument that took place inside the skating center.
The AP article also mentioned that Mayweather has been cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
Mayweather is set to make his comeback in the ring as he battles Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez on September 19 in “Number One/Numero Uno” at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
