SEAG record-breakers to get more incentives
Southeast Asian Games hammer throw king Arniel Ferrera of Cauayan town, Negros Occidental will get an additional P100,000 for setting a new record in last year’s biennial Games in Nakhon Ratchasima , Thailand .
This was disclosed yesterday by the Philippine Sports Commissioner Eric Loretizo, who said the reward is apart from the incentives for the gold-silver-bronze medalists under Republic Act 9064 authored by then Sen. Robert Jaworski.
The incentive is pursuant to BR 102-2002 , which was the basis of a similar bonanza to long distance ace Eduardo Buenavista for setting a new SEA Games mark during the 21st SEA Games.
