Lyceum wins WNCAA Seniors A basketball

MANILA – The Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) claimed victory after sweeping College of St. Benilde (CSB) in the Seniors A division basketball finals of the Women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (WNCAA).
LPU completed its sweep of the best-of-three final last Sunday by edging CSB, 52-48, according to the league’s website. It won the first game last Sept. 20, 52-42.
Lyceum ruled the Seniors A division by besting CSB, Centro Escolar University, Philippine Women’s University, Rizal Technological University and St. Scholastica’s College (SSC).
Meanwhile, the winner in the Seniors B division will be decided on Sunday at the SSC Gym.
The University of Asia & the Pacific (UA&P) and La Consolacion College Manila (LCCM) will battle in the decider after they split their first two games.
UA&P evened the series with a 51-46 win last Sunday. LCCM earlier eked out a 58-57 win last Sept. 20.
Other schools included in the Seniors B division are Emilio Aguinaldo College, Miriam College and San Beda College Alabang.
